Reviews

"The visitors of the concert of the Foundation for the Support of Classical Music were most impressed by the Sonata for Clarinet and Piano by Francis Poulenc, the lovers of the works of P. I. Tchaikovsky were won over by the performance of Variations sur Casse-Noisette by Alexandre Chabod and at the end they surprised with the modern Variation on a Gypsy Melody by Adam Skoumal."

"We had the opportunity to hear him four times during the evening. Alone with the piano in the third piece, in a fantasy on motives from Pablo de Sarasate's Carmen arr. Nicolas Badeyrou for clarinet and piano. It is a virtuosic part full of pitfalls, quick shifts between positions, passages extremely demanding on breath and technique, combining legato groups with deployed notes. If you were just listening, you might feel at times that there are two clarinets playing. Marek Švejkar, however, showed the art of his and his instrument. I admired the cultivated poise of his tone, his precise technique and his sometimes almost endless breathing without loss of energy. This only 22-year-old native of Chomutov seems to be on the way to a significant musical career."

Veronika Paroulková, Czech Radio

"The soloists were the excellent clarinetists Anna Sysová and Marek Švejkar, who impressed with beautiful tone production, naturally sung melodies, confident technique, dynamic changes and perfect interplay - especially the unison trills were admirable."
